!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

This happened yesterday and the deceased was a family friend. It’s just starting to sink in now for me. As comfortable as we get with our cars we still need to remember that they are dangerous and can kill. And remember to keep it on the track, this was a residential area on a beautiful sunny day so I imagine speed and/or hot dogging it was a factor here.

Crashes like these always give me pause about driving the older vehicles that I do. Would he have survived in a newer car? Maybe, maybe not, but I’m sure he would have stood a much better chance.

Stay safe out there.

Sorry about your friend.

I saw this accident a few months ago on my way home from work. That stretch is long and straight and conditions were perfect. There is zero doubt in my mind he was racing. The car looked like a WS6 Firebird to me.

Thanks. And sheesh...that is a lot of damage, they had to be going well beyond the speed limit I think

Based on the skid marks he left on the road, I presume as much.
